Video of the Saladero de Pericos clay lick at the Napo Wildlife Center
This is a short and compressed video taken at the Saladero de Pericos clay
lick in the forest. Most of the birds in this footage are Cobalt-winged
Parakeets. |
The observation blind at the Saladero de Pericos in the forest
is typically visited by a thousand or more Cobalt-winged Parakeets. The
noise is incredible! From late October through early April, hundreds of
Orange-cheeked Parrots are also found in the mix, as are rarities such
as the Scarlet-shouldered Parrotlet and occasional Scarlet and Red-and-Green
macaws. The Napo Wildlife Center has two
parrot blinds that allow you to see unbelievable sights like this,
as well as the best canopy tower in Ecuador. |
